About
Kepler-452b was announced in 2015 as the closest thing yet to an Earth twin: a slightly larger world orbiting a Sun-like star on a 385-day year, right in the habitable zone. Later analysis has questioned whether the signal is a planet at all.
Nicknamed "Earth's cousin": it orbits a Sun-like star in the habitable zone.

Did you know
- Its star is older and brighter than the Sun, so the planet may be entering a runaway greenhouse phase.
- At that distance, confirming it will need instruments we do not yet have.
- It was nicknamed 'Earth's older cousin' rather than a twin, for good reason.
